Psychology Fees

The Australian Psychological Society (APS) National Schedule of recommended fees recommends a 46 minute – 60-minute consultation for psychological services is at a rate of $318 from 2025 - 2026. At Edmonds Psychology we have set our fees under the recommendations to allow mental health to be more accessible and affordable.

All fee prices listed are for a standard 50-minute therapy session. Longer session times can be requested or may be recommended due to circumstances.

Medicare rebates

Medicare rebates are available with a current mental health care plan in place referred from your GP to a Registered Psychologist. Up to 10 sessions can be used per calendar year. You will receive a Medicare rebate of $98.95 with a valid mental health care plan.

For a private paying client that does not receive a Medicare rebate for the session you may be eligible with your private health fund for a subsidy. This is dependent on your health cover and insurance company. Some funds will provide a rebate for a Registered Psychologist and Psychologist (provisional).

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral to see a psychologist? You do not need a referral to book an appointment. However, to access Medicare rebates, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.

How many sessions can I claim on Medicare? Up to 10 sessions per calendar year with a valid Mental Health Care Plan. Your GP can refer you to a Registered Psychologist.

Does Edmonds Psychology bulk bill? We are not a bulk billing practice. However, Medicare rebates of $98.95 are available with a Mental Health Care Plan. Concession rates may also be available — please contact us to discuss your circumstances.

Can I use my NDIS funding? Yes. Edmonds Psychology is a fully registered NDIS provider and can work with plan-managed, NDIA-managed and self-managed participants.

Assessments

Please contact the clinic - an individualised quote will be prepared in regard to the assessment need. Assessments are quoted to the amount of time that is required to provide a comprehensive assessment, inclusive of travel, observations, interviews, assessment scoring and clinical report writing time.
