Nicola Edmonds

Nicola Edmonds started her career in the disability sector in 2014, moving into the out of home care space in 2016. Nicola is the clinical director of Edmonds Psychology which opened it’s doors on the Central Coast 2021 providing accessible mental health treatment for individuals with a variety of needs. 

 

Nicola has extensive experience working with the most vulnerable individuals in our community working with disability agencies, child protection and out of home care organisations. Nicola has extensive experience working with complex mental health presentations, supporting individuals who are at risk of suicide and survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse and traumatic experiences. She has a strong clinical interest supporting individuals with personality disorders. Nicola provides authentic, non-judgmental evidence based psychological treatment inclusive of EMDR and behaviour support interventions.
 

In addition to therapy work, Nicola has years of experience in providing neuro-affirming assessments helping people understand their strengths and challenges. Nicola prides herself in providing comprehensive neurodiverse assessments exploring ADHD, Autism, PTSD and Intellectual Disabilities.

 

Nicola is an approved supervisor with the Australian Practitioner Health Regulation and can provide provisional psychologist’s clinical supervision on their pathway to registration. She also provides organisations clinical supervision in regard to trauma informed clinical practises and high risk complex clinical presentations. She is an associate member of Australian Psychological society and currently sits on the local Central Coast APS board as Chair of the local committee.

 

When Nicola is not working she enjoys spending time at the gym and being an active part of her local community.

Nicole Boeckx

Nicole has always been fascinated by human behaviour and understanding the complex interaction between our brains and our behaviours. 

​

Nicole has extensive experience working with vulnerable young people in the out of home care sector and it is from her work in this space that she developed a real passion for advocating and supporting people who have experienced trauma within their lives. Since starting at Edmonds Psychology as a provisional psychologist in early 2023.


Nicole has provided behaviour support interventions and psychological supports to a number of children, young people and adults to help them enhance their wellbeing. Nicole's approach is warm, non-judgmental and neuro-affirming. Nicole is committed to providing evidenced based interventions that allows an individual to flourish within their unique selves.

Nicole has a strong interest in clinical assessments, particularly in the areas of autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. Nicole is passionate about providing thorough, trauma-informed assessments that support accurate and meaningful diagnoses. She is dedicated to helping individuals better understand their strengths and challenges, with the goal of guiding appropriate support and intervention pathways.

Nicole holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science and master’s degree in Professional Psychology.

When she is not working she enjoys spending time with friends and family, travelling and binge watching shows on Netflix.

Rebecca Burgess

Rebecca has been working at Edmonds Psychology since 2024 providing counselling, assessment and behaviour support services.

Rebecca started her clinical career volunteering with Lifeline as a digital crisis supporter. Her role within Lifeline provided immediate short-term support to children, adolescents and adults to cope with crisis and distress. Within her role at Edmonds Psychology, she provides counselling to children, young people and adults from a variety of backgrounds. She has a particular interest in supporting families and working from a collaborative, strengths-based model of care.

Rebecca is passionate about creating a safe and enriching space for all individuals in her care. Her approach is neuro-affirming and guided by her values of empathy and respect. Rebecca is committed to empowering and supporting individuals who are at risk of suicide and has a strong interest in providing high-risk evidenced-based interventions.

Rebecca holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science and master’s degree in Professional Psychology. She currently is undertaking the 5+1 registration pathway to be an endorsed registered psychologist. 

 

Rebecca enjoys training her two dogs, Kylo and Kenshi, and occasionally participating in dog shows with them, and catching up with friends and family.

Ray Cornwell

Ray began his career in the disability sector, working closely with children and young people with neurodivergent needs and behavioural challenges. After five years in this field, he transitioned into the Out of Home Care (OOHC) system where he has spent the past five years leading the clinical therapeutic team. 
 

Ray has extensive experience working with the most vulnerable in our community including sexual abuse survivors, significant trauma histories, high-risk suicidal presentations, aggressive and dysregulated patients and complex mental health presentations.

His approach is deeply person-centred, grounded in the belief that meaningful change comes from meeting individuals where they are and empowering them to find their own motivation for growth.

Ray is a registered Behaviour Support Practitioner who works holistically with individuals and their support networks to develop tailored, person-centred strategies. Ray considers the impact of past experiences and the functional drivers behind complex behaviours, with a strong focus on building positive skills to reduce behaviours of concern. 

​

Ray within OOHC has served as a member of the Restrictive Practice Panel. He focused on the reduction and ethical oversight of restrictive practices for young people in intensive therapeutic care homes. He is committed to ensuring that any restrictions in place are the least restrictive necessary, with a strong emphasis on balancing duty of care with the dignity of risk.

Ray holds a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Newcastle (2017) and is a registered general psychologist.

​

Outside of his professional life, Ray is a self-described “collector of skills.” His diverse hobbies include circus arts, fire twirling, Latin dance, parkour, photography, and athletics—reflecting his lifelong passion for learning, movement, and creative expression.
